“Mara! We're going to be late!”

Mara ignored her fathers call. She was painting the window trim in the attic bedroom, and was nearly finished.

“Mara!” her father called again, a little more loudly.

“You’d better go,” her mother said “This can't wait.” 

Mara set her paintbrush down and untied the strings of her apron she had over her school clothes. “All right,” she said as she hung the apron on a hook. “But don't do any more work until I get home. Promise”

“I promise,” her mother said. I have to work on the plans for Hudson’s house today anyway.” Mara went over to where her mother was seated at her drafting table and gave her a hug. “I'm sure the house you're designing for them is nice.” she said “but not as nice as my house. 

Her mother laughed, “Of course not,” she said “I save all my best ideas for you.” 

“Mara!”

“Coming!” Mara shouted as she took one last look at the huge dollhouse sitting on the workbench and reluctantly went downstairs.

Carbon
Carbon can be a liquid, gas, and solid. It can be found in different forms just like coal, oil, and diamonds. Carbon would be used to make coral & shellfish then, turned into limestone. The 3 main carbon sinks are: Forests, oceans and soil. Plants burn, get cut down, then release carbon to the atmosphere. Carbon forms with other atoms to make something new e.g: Co2.

Carbon dioxide
Carbon dioxide traps heat in the atmosphere to keep our planet warm. Co2 is a gas in the atmosphere that without it, we would freeze to death.

What causes this
People burn fossil fuels, wood, oil and gas. It is released by natural processes such as respiration and volcano eruptions. (found from google but put into own words).

Getting stuck :)

 One time I decided to play hide and seek with my 4 friends. I was the seeker and started counting up to 10. The last person I found had the BEST hiding spot! Which was underneath my sister's bed! One of my friends called Aaira started to count next, so I thought it was funny to hide underneath the bed where Taanvi was hiding. Once I heard Aaira count to 10 I got really nervous. I saw Aaira walk past the bed as I giggled. But because of that, she was able to find me first. “Haha! Found you!” said Aaira

“Aw man!!” I said back. I tried getting out of the bed but when I tried I couldn’t!! “DAD!! HELP ME I CAN’T GET OUT OF MY BED!” I yelled. Dad walked in the room looking angry. 

“Angeleen, how many times have I told you NOT to go under the bed!?” 

“I don't know!? It's like the best spot in the house, where else would I hide?”

“Whatever. Next time this happens I'm not going to be lifting up the bed.” Dad lifted the bottom right corner of the bed very high, so that way I could get out.

“Thanks dad! Anyways, that won’t happen again.

100 word challenge

 Vehicle…music…climbed…furry…slowly

I slowly climbed up this rusty ladder leading to this really high-up helicopter place. The reason I climbed up the ladder is that I could hear some mysterious noises like a little dog. Turns out that when I reached the top there was a dog! It was a furry one though. It was really cute and it looked lost. I tried getting closer to the dog and tried to pick it up. It looked really scary and frightening. I slowly picked up the dog and slowly climbed down the ladder. 

I took him and ran to my car parked on the side of the road.

One Day I was cleaning my house. I was 

looking around to find some dusty spots. Then.. I noticed that my window was cracked a little. I went up to the window and touched the glass to see if anything would fall out. Nothing came out of the window so I just left it alone

(Next Day)

I woke up and went to brush my teeth. I was really hungry, so I decided to go and eat something from a cafe. I put on my coat and was ready to go. As soon as I was about to walk out the door I noticed that the glass that was cracked yesterday cracked even more.. I thought it was just the wind so if it got worse I'd have to replace the window. 

I left the house and drove to the cafe. I was thinking about how the window cracked a lot from the past 2 days. 

                                 

(coming back home)

I walked into the house and saw that a few things of mine were missing. It was really strange and I was really really scared.. I walked slowly and quietly into my room. The door was closed.. and I knew that before I left the house it was still open. I twisted the door handle and opened the door quietly. From what I saw peeking through the little gap was a really tall man wearing all black.. And that's when I knew that someone had been stealing things from my house..

The lost Puppies

 “Hey muuuum, can we go to the park today? It's nice and sunny today,” Said Olivia. 

“Hmm, maybe if you have your hat we can,” said mum.

“Oh, yes I have a hat, does that mean we can go?”

“Yeah we can go, but only for 20 minutes because it's hot out here.” 

“Yay! I'm so excited I love going down the big blue slide!!” said Olivia excitedly.

                          (10 minutes later)

“Muuuuum can we go now, I'm all ready?”

“Yes Oliva, were going now just wait 2 minutes.” 

“Ok fine just be quick okay?” 

“Yep let's go now.” 

“Okay yay!!!!!”

                     (They arrive at the park)

“Yay! I'm going down the blue slide, Mum watch me!”

Olivia climbs up the blue slide but then spots 2 little puppies.

“Huh, what are those 2 puppies doing there?” thinks Olivia in her head.

(The puppies were running around and scratching each other.)

“Olivia!! Go down the slide, other kids are waiting for their turn!!!” 

“Okay mum!!” Olivia goes down the blue slide and runs off to the little puppies.

“Olivia! Where are you going!?” 

“MUM!! COME LOOK I FOUND 2 PUPPIES!” Olivia yells.

“I'm coming!, do not touch the puppies because they might get scared!” 

“Okay mum, I won't!” 

“Woah those puppies are really cute!” 

“Mum, can we keep them?” 

“I'm not sure if we can, let's just see if anyone takes them, if not maybe we can.”

“Oh okay! I hope nobody takes them!”

“Olivia dont be silly, we might not take the puppies.” 

“Awhh, but I want them, they're so cute!” 

“You might get one for your birthday!” 

“But mum! I want that one!”

“Olivia stop being silly and just go play, or we're going to leave NOW.” mum said angrily 

“Aww. ok mum..”

“You know what, let's just go its way too hot, and I'll just treat you to Mcdonalds or something.” 

“Ooooh, Mcdonalds! Yummy I'm so hungry!!” 

“Yep, get in the car and choose what you want from Mcdonalds.” 

“Ok! I want the Chicken Mc cheese, no lettuce and no ketchup!” 

“That sounds delicious! Maybe I'll get that too but with lettuce!” 

“Muuuum get your own burger, stop copying me!” 

“No I can't! It sounds tooooooo delicious!” 

“Whatever, are we nearly there by the way mum?!”

“Yes just wait 2 more minutes”

 

                            2 minutes later

“Mum, it's been 2 minutes, are we there now.?” 

“Nearly just 5 minutes.” 

“OH MY GOSH MUMM! YOU KEEP TELLING ME 5 MORE MINUTES AND I'M HUNGRY!!” 

“Be quite olivia or no puppy.” 

“Fine. but you better get those cute puppies or I'll never talk to you. 😡😡”

                       They arrive at Mcdonalds 

“Okay! we’re here, tell me what you want and i'll order it.” 

“Hmm. I just want fries and coke now.” 

“Okay, anything else?” 

“No thank you!”

“Hi, can i please just get fries and 1 coke?” 

Speaker: “Yes of course, would you like anything else?” 

“No thank you.” 

“Yayyy! When we get the fries and coke, can we go back to the park?” 

“Maybe, it's gonna start to rain soon so we have to get there quickly and only for 2 minutes.”

“Only 2 minutes?!! That's too short!” 

“Then I guess we're not going.”

“Nonono, sorry mum 2 minutes is long!”

“That's what i thought.” 

They arrive at the park but Olivia notices that the 2 puppies weren't by the big blue slide where she saw them. 

“Huh. Where's the puppies gone? They were right here.!” 

Olivia looks back and starts looking around the park for the puppies. 

“MUM! DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE PUPPIES WENT!!?” 

Olivia runs to her mum and shouts

“Mum, mum! Where are the puppies gone!!”

“I don't know olivia!! Eat your food right now and we're leaving.” 

“No mum! I wanted to feed the puppies fries!” 

“No. were leaving right now, so get up and let's go.”

“Fine.. but we can come tomorrow right?”

“No sorry, we can go next week because I have work tomorrow, and you’ll have to stay with your sister.”

“WHAT!! I hate her, she's so rude to me.”

“Well there's nothing i can do about it.”

I rush into the huge building aiming for the shop I need to go to before it closes. Staring at the pack of chips that I could see from the clear door. I had to get the chips before anyone else could! But there was something else that I needed. I had to get the last pack of chips but as soon as I moved one leg.. I could feel something tap my right shoulder. 

I had turned around to see a man with black shoes, black clothing, and black sunglasses. He was kind of bald but with a little bit of hair. The first thing I thought of a security guard when I looked at the man. Then I heard a voice saying “The shop is closed” I wish I could've gone into the shop but it was too late. 

I jumped back into the car and heard the whole mall shut down. I could smell something delicious. Something delicious that made my mouth water. I got back out of the car and walked over to the place that smelt delicious. And ordered those delicious-looking smiley face fries. My mouth watered so much more after holding it up to my face ready to eat it. I put the fries in my mouth and I could taste that warm and salty fry.
